Wendy Knight has over 15 years’ experience in the community sector, within government and non-government roles in child protection, out of home care and contract management. She is presently the State Manager for Out of Home Care service provider Foundations Care, managing operations of three OOHC offices and Non Placement Support Services throughout NSW. <br><br>
Wendy currently holds a number of representative memberships both regionally and state, including OOHC State Wide Reference and Best Practice Unit, co-chair Northern Carer Advisory Group, Co-chair Northern Health and Education Strategic Working Group and Co-chair Governance and Cultural Change Strategic Working Group and in 2013 held the position of co-chair of the Northern Regional Implementation Group. <br><br>
Wendy’s past leadership roles include being a member of the state wide Child Protection Practice Advisory Group, Community Services, state Aboriginal Reference Group, Community Service, Deputy Chair Bullinah Aboriginal Medical Service and in 2012 Women in Management, Dept of Premier and Cabinet.
Wendy is a proud Aboriginal women from Gamilaroi Country. She is a strong advocate for the rights of Aboriginal people and promotes an indigenous perspective on the various issues that are affecting our children and families in today’s society.
