Hosking Legal has always specialised in children’s law and family law. We have extensive experience in these jurisdictions, making court appearances on an almost daily basis. Hosking Legal appears at the Children’s Courts at Wollongong (Port Kembla), Nowra, Moss Vale and Goulburn on a regular basis. Courts on the south coast, as well as in Bega, Cooma, Queanbeyan, Wagga Wagga and Sydney are also serviced.
Hosking Legal can provide legal advice on all aspects of Care and Protection law. This includes:
- Applications for parental responsibility or contact orders
- Advice about adoption
- Advice in relation to the powers of FACS (such as removals of children and ordering medical examinations)
- Assisting applications for reviews of decisions made by FACS through the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Robert has some 11 years’ experience in conducting Children’s Court proceedings under the Care Act. He opened Hosking Legal in 2008. He has extensive experience in both mediation and litigation. Robert aims to provide a superior standard of legal services by listening to your needs and then providing sound and realistic advice, and quality representation. Robert is well known for his formidable advocacy skills.
Robert is a member of the Legal Aid panels for Family Law and Care and Protection. He also acts as an Independent Children’s Lawyer in Care and Protection matters.
Robert is also appointed to the external panel of legal practitioners who act for Family and Community Services in Care and Protection Proceedings.
