NGOs are becoming increasingly exposed to interaction with the legal system and the need for accurate and timely legal advice. We understand the particular representation needs of ACWA’s Members, as well as the need to provide education and support about the legal process. We have acted for a variety of NGOs, both directly and on behalf of their carers with their support.
Our Principals, Kathryn Renshall and Robert McLachlan, have each had over 25 years experience in child and protection work, and are acknowledged leaders in the field.
Based from the Children’s Law Chambers in Parramatta, our two principals and two employed solicitors service the metropolitan area of Sydney, and the Children’s Courts at Parramatta, Bidura, Campbelltown and Woy Woy, as well as regionally including the Riverina and Central West. We also appear in various other jurisdictions including: District Court; Supreme Court and Court of Appeal; Coroner’s Court; and NCAT including the Appeals Division.
We are on the panel to appear for the Department of Family and Community Services and Legal Aid in care and protection matters. We also have experience where child protection work interfaces with Migration Law. We offer our long term and wide ranging experience to ACWA’s Members.
