2026 Family Safety Collaboration Planning Forum
ACWA is excited to announce our 2026 Family Safety Collaboration Planning Forum, taking place in Wellington on Tuesday 10 February, with the support of Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety (ANROWS).
This forum represents the next stage of collaborative planning across the region, bringing together services and agencies committed to strengthening responses for children and young people impacted by domestic and family violence. The day will focus on shared understanding, coordination and practical action across systems, with a strong regional and rural lens.
A key highlight of the forum will be a training session delivered by Youna Kim, Deputy Director, Communications and Engagement at ANROWS. The session will translate national research into practical, usable guidance for practitioners working on the ground.
Drawing on the ANROWS 2024 publication In their own right: Actions to improve children and young people’s safety from domestic, family and sexual violence, the training will centre children as victim-survivors with their own rights, voices and ongoing safety needs, with a strong focus on regional and rural practice realities.
