ACWA’s Family Safety Collaboration Project Report

ACWA’s Family Safety Collaboration Project Report (Waluwin Wayadan) was officially unveiled yesterday, with NSW Minister for Women Jodie Harrison joining guests from across the Central West to celebrate the implementation of the pioneering pilot program—the first of its kind in NSW.

The report outlines the collective approach taken in Dubbo and Wellington, centring the voices of those with lived experience to develop a more holistic and effective response to family and domestic violence and child protection concerns.

Over the two-year period, ACWA joined forces with several agencies including local government, ACCO’s, NGO’s, domestic and family violence service providers and child protection and family support services, who engaged in extensive consultations across community.

Journey mapping undertaken by women who had experienced DFV helped to identify any gaps in the response and what was and wasn’t helpful.

Thank you to project leads, Carolyn Thompson and Maria Kissouri, for their enormous commitment and dedication in overseeing this project. And thank you to all project partners and funding bodies.
