After the Apology: Special ACWA Screening with Professor Larissa Behrendt

ACWA and our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) team is very pleased to present a special screening of the documentary After the Apology.

When: Monday, July 23 at 6pm
Where:  Palace Cinema, Central Park Mall, Chippendale
Tickets: $19 each
Special guest speaker: Professor Larissa Behrendt

This documentary follows the story of four Aboriginal Grandmothers as they challenge government policies to bring their grandkids home. Their grassroots actions spearhead a national movement to curb the skyrocketing rates of child removals.

We are also very honoured to announce that our special guest speaker will be Professor Larissa Behrendt, who wrote and directed this documentary.

Professor Behrendt is a Eualeyai/Kamillaroi woman and the Professor of Law and Director of Research at the Jumbunna Indigenous House of Learning at UTS. She also won the 2002 David Uniapon Award and a 2005 Commonwealth Writers Prize for her novel Home, and was named as 2009 NAIDOC Person of the Year.
