Do you know a young person who would make a great consultant and advocate for children and young people in care?
The Department of Family and Community Services is looking for 12 young people from across NSW to join the FACS Youth Consult for Change group.
This is a great opportunity for young people to connect with others and grow their leadership and teamwork skills.
Members will get the opportunity to learn about advocacy and practice using their voice and experiences to influence programs, initiatives and practice within FACS.The young people who have been involved in the group say that their confidence has grown and they have benefited from helping change things for the better here at FACS.
I feel like I can do a lot more than I could when I started. I feel like I am making a new future for myself, I know my options now. Before the group I didn’t know the stuff I could access and what I could do.
