National Families Week: May 15-21

ACWA CEO Andrew McCallum is proud to be an Ambassador for National Families Week 2017, which runs from Monday 15 May to Sunday 21 May 2017 (coinciding with the United Nations International Day of Families on 15 May).

Families in all their many and varied forms provide the critical foundations of a caring and cohesive society,” Mr McCallum said.

“They face tremendous pressure and expectations in our ever changing world and it is incumbent on all of us to nurture the values that families imbue and ensure they are supported.”

The aim of National Families Week is to celebrate the vital role that families play in Australian society. The enduring theme is ‘Stronger families, stronger communities’.

This theme highlights the important role families play as the central building block of our community and that community wellbeing is enhanced by family wellbeing.
