From this March ACWA’s CCWT team is hosting a series of free support sessions for Family Group Conferencing Facilitators, who play such a critical role in empowering families to resolve child protection concerns.
Family Group Conferencing brings families and significant others together to plan and make decisions about how to keep their children safe and ensure their needs are being met. In NSW, Family Group Conferencing is increasingly being used in the out-of-home care system to support decision-making processes about where children and young people in care can find a permanent placement
The role of Family Group Conferencing Facilitator is both rewarding and challenging, and CCWT’s bi-monthly support group aims to provide newly-accredited facilitators a valuable opportunity to connect, refresh, increase their skills, share their knowledge and support each other in a confidential space.
Led by an experienced Family Group Conferencing Facilitator, these support sessions will be conducted via video link and teleconference. Topics will be decided in consultation with group participants prior to each gathering.
There will also be an option for one-on-one supervision on a fee-for-service basis.
