Statewide Training to Help Young People in Care Plan for Their Future

ACWA will be delivering a series of workshops across NSW in the coming six months aimed at equipping out-of-home care caseworkers with the critical skills they need to effectively support and prepare the young people they work with for a life beyond care.

It is universally acknowledged by child welfare professionals that ‘leaving care’ is a vulnerable and difficult transition period for young people. At the same time, supports and services are often ‘thin on the ground’.

Our CCWT team’s one-day Transition From Care: Planning to Leave Care workshop will provide caseworkers with a range of effective practice strategies on how they can best support young people in their journey from care to independent living, and ultimately reach their full potential as adults.
