The Office of Widening Participation’s 2017 afterschool workshop support program for students in out-of-home care and care leavers will be operating again from next week.
Boost Club is developed and provided for students (15+) who are interested in higher education and want assistance to build the knowledge and capacity to achieve their educational aspirations. Workshops will involve a range of recreational and educative activities and exercises.
Boost Club workshops are provided on-campus at no cost to participants and are run by Office of Widening Participation staff and student ambassadors. Transportation to and from the workshops remains the responsibility of the registering carer or caseworker.
These clubs will be run throughout 2017 school terms on Western Sydney University’s Parramatta South (Mondays) and Kingswood (Thursdays) on an alternating fortnightly basis. Clubs run from 4pm-6pm. Check the Boost Club flyer for dates.
All necessary workshop materials are provided, including afternoon tea. Participating students will also receive a Boost Club Member Education Pack.
